What Counts Most In The Navy

“I believe in what counts most in the Navy – the officers and enlisted men – the man behind the gun, the man in the engine-room, the man in the conning tower, the man, whoever he is, who is doing his duty.”

President Theodore Roosevelt

I love TR for many things, including has advocacy for seapower.

I wonder how we would feel knowing that today "the man" behind the gun, the conning tower, in engine room may very well be a woman (OK, not in submarines, but you get the picture)...

I do believe if one went to Rushmore and posed that query, TR would respond with “bully, for the ladies”.

Very Respectfully,
